Staten Island Polar Plunge - Special Olympics

The Kappa Zeta Chapter of St. John's University and the Alpha Omega Chapter of Fordham University partnered together to dip the ice cold waters of South Beach of Staten Island while many more watched on in support. This year marked the 8th anniversary of the Staten Island Polar Plunge, which took place Sunday, December 7th at the Vanderbilt on Father Capodanno Blvd.

Participants, or "Plungers" as they're called, are asked to valiantly tread the chilly water to raise money for athletes of the New York Special Olympics. Plungers are encouraged to ask friends and family for monetary as well as moral support. Both chapters collectively raised $986 for the cause. We thank Michael Angelo, Michael Kroczynski, and Avneet Nagra for representing Kappa Zeta by plunging in!
